While the moon blatantly beams
She waltzes on your dying dreams.
I feel the sorrow in your soul that streams
I hear the agony of your silent screams.
Your soul is shattered & you feel broken
As from a beguiling dream, you’ve now awoken.
You shrink, about your fears you haven’t spoken
For she has given you a tormenting token.
I know your love was true
I see the pain you went through.
In the journey of life as she abandoned you
You did, something that you know, you shouldn’t do.
Perhaps in her heart you lost your place
Perhaps with someone else she had you replaced.
But don’t spill the acid of your venomous words on her face
For I never want your inner goodness to be misplaced.
I know things didn’t go as per your plan
For love’s an enigma that disobeys our planned command.
Remember that in some way she made you a better man
But now you deserve someone better, I hope you understand.
In love more than the outcome, its the memories that matter
So don’t overthink the past & bitterly cry.
Don’t let your selfless soul ever shatter
For, someone else is meant to be the sun in your sky.
I know, you loved with a pure heart
So gently live & let your being’s beauty glow.
She may have caused your world to fall apart
But don’t beg her to stay, instead gracefully let go.

Note: Few days ago, my friend was dumped by his girlfriend & with the bitterness that burnt within him, he said stuff about her that wasn’t justified in anyway that disturbed me personally to a great extent. I agree she might have been heartless towards you & that goodbyes are tough to digest but we all come from a woman, so how can we say nasty things about another? As they say love knows it’s own depth only at the time of separationβ¦ through this poem I offer my sincere support to all those who have loved & lost. I also want to emphasize that don’t let anyone’s actions displace the goodness that I know breathes within you. Someday we all will be reduced to mere memories, so lets do our best to be remembered as a good memory in someone’s mind. Always remember in the end, only 3 things matter: how purely you love’d, how well you tried to sustain it & how gracefully you let go of someone, who wasn’t meant for you.

Wow, this is a beautiful poem! And the message is so true, it’s very sad that people we think will stay with us forever dump us to be alone, but it just means that we deserve someone so much better. Inspirational, beautiful poem, Sidharth!

It’s lovely, the way you raise the main topic and highlighted it is really beautiful. I love it. The most important of course one should never leave there goodness no matter how situation is. Life is never easy and neither going to be all we need to learn to deal with them. I appreciate your way of portraying it.ππ

I’m still back on your words, ‘she made you a better man,’ because this is how I look at the people who come into my life. (Okay, not the man part for me…) I see the people in my life as teachers that help me understand certain things better, help me to learn more about myself, open me up to new ways of thinking, and in some cases shine a light on something I don’t want to add into my life. Some friendships have the power to last over a lifetime, while others come and quickly go; somehow, each one serves to strengthen us. Your poem was wise, healing, and served to bring hope. I wonder if you know the power your writing holds. Thank you, Sid.

Everytime your poems get me speechless and spell bound.π.this poem very beautifully conveys the message that no matter what the situation is, we should never speak bad about anyone and the need of moving on. As in the end you are the one whose gonna get affected by all this and no one else.A very amazing poem. Keep writing π₯°

When we are in a particular situation, which gives pain and suffering to us, we tend to overlook the other side. We fail to empathize with the people who is involved as we are entangled in our own suffering. And I admit that sometimes, it’s natural. That’s the time, our well wishers help us to bear with it and make us see the better side. It’s nice that you held on to your honesty as a friend and your opinions as a human. If we get something, we can’t keep it forever. But the time we lived with that thing, we all are blessed with some beautiful memories. So when the time calls for the separation, we gotta learn to be happy for the beautiful memories more than being sad coz we lost it.
The thought in the poem is very craftily sculpted. Briefing the state of mind that one has at this point of time. The fifth stanza was the best part I felt. And the message at the end…learn to love, live and let go! Again it touched my heart.ππ

Yes as they say life is all about letting go but it hurts when you don’t get a chance to say goodbye… But it’s at this juncture when a person must let go with grace rather than brew any kind of bitterness or hate. Whatever is the outcome of love, at least some memories would be sweet that one could cherish. Thank you for the lovely compliment and taking out time to genuinely express your thoughts regarding this poem ππ

First of all, you’ve chosen a perfect featured image! It really speaks a lot and what shall I say about the poem… It’s melancholic as well as reassuring at the same timeβ€
We all come alone in this world and alone we’ve to go back, each action and thought of ours is being recorded in God’s register! So, why tarnish and scar your column by doing anything wrong… even if people think that you’re expected to act that way because you’re in pain, that doesn’t mean you can just do anything.
The last stanza reflects so much Hope! It’s a great optimistic piece.ππ
One more thing, π the second stanza isn’t in italics. Have you done this on purpose or it just got skipped?
Another little ques from me π (Hope you don’t mindβΊ)
“For I never want your inner goodness to misplaced.” In this line I think it should be “… to be misplaced” What do you think?
Correct me if I’m wrong. π

I’m so happy to know that you enjoyed the poem. Yes expectations are the cause of all kinds of sadness. Sadness and sufferings are inevitable but how we respond to them is entirely in our control. Thank you so much for highlighting those errors, I’ll rectify all that right away. I truly enjoy reading your heart felt & sincere comments, thank you so much ππ

I too felt this about the pic!
What an apt one you have selected, Sidharth.π
And one more thing I was thinking to ask…
You did something, that you know, you shouldn’t do.
I didn’t get exactly what you wanted to convey. Just accidentally it came to my mind, so I thought to ask you.π

Thank you for your lovely comment. Yes what had happened was that one of my friends got dumped by his girlfriend and in anger he said pretty bad nasty stuff about her, which later I addressed to him that its something that he shouldn’t have done. Just wanted to express that all the anger & bitterness sometimes makes us do or say stuff that we don’t actually mean & we know that it’s not right yet we go ahead with that. π Glad you liked the poem ππ
